These are just a few things that you can expect when you visit New Life Assembly. We invite you & your family to come as you are & join us with an open heart ready to receive God.
We’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) that are meant to help you feel comfortable & aware of what to expect when joining us for a typical Sunday service. Please feel free to contact us anytime with additional questions.
We encourage you to bring your Bible in whatever format is most comfortable for you. Some bring their Bible while others read scriptures on their smartphone. We display important points & scriptures on the overhead screen.
We want you to be at ease & dress in attire that makes you feel part of your everyday. You’ll find that most people at New Life Assembly fall somewhere in the casual (jeans) to business casual (slacks/dresses) range.
Yes. But as our guest, we want you to feel free to let the offering basket pass on by. If you desire to give, please know that New Life Assembly is devoted to being careful stewards of the resources within our care. Members and regular attendees are encouraged to be faithful in tithing. New Life commits 10% of our budget to support missions & organizations throughout the US & around the world.
At the front door, you’ll be greeted with a handshake by Pastor Joel. As you enter the main lobby, you’ll be welcomed by one of our greeters who will hand you the weekly bulletin & offer directions around the church if you need them. We begin service with a few worship songs that help us disengage from the world & turn our focus to the Lord. During the final song, our Worship Leader will make an open invitation for those in need of prayer to come forward to meet with our Prayer Partners as the rest of the congregation sings. Pastor Joel will lead the church in prayer, we’ll give our tithes & offerings, then Pastor will preach a biblically based message that usually ranges 30-40 minutes & may include a creative video or presentation. The worship team will come back together for one final number as Pastor closes the service. A self-serve café is stocked with quality hot coffee & good books following the first service. It’s a great time to mingle with your friends & meet new people in between & after Sunday morning services.
You can watch a sermon video or listen to a sermon podcast to hear one of Pastor Joel’s latest messages.
Our talented worship team is made up of adult voices, keyboard, drums, bass/acoustic/electric guitars, & violin. We enjoy a blend of contemporary Christian & classic hymns & we display song lyrics on the overhead screen. Listen to a sample of our adult worship team set list here or our student worship team set list here.
We have active Kids & Youth Ministries that help kids cultivate a personal relationship with God by sharing weekly Bible lessons, engaging in corporate worship, praying together, and supporting missionaries. Learn more about our Kids Ministry & our Youth & Ministries.
A staffed nursery is available during all regularly scheduled services for infants & children up to three years of age. For security, parents must sign-in & sign-out each child. A comfortable private room (Room 1, located off the main lobby) is available for nursing mothers. Diaper changing stations are located in every restroom for your convenience.
Our church family receives communion together on the first Sunday of each month to remember Christ’s sacrificial death for our sins. We invite all believers to take the elements with us, with the bread (cracker) being passed first & then the cups (grape juice). Once all have received the bread & cup, Pastor Joel will guide us as we take the elements together.
Becoming a member of New Life means taking ownership of your church (actively volunteering, voting, & tithing), along with the people & community we care about. You are eligible to apply for membership after attending New Life regularly for three months. At that time, sign up for our quarterly Membership Class where you’ll study the book I Am A Church Member by Thom Rainer and learn about the Assemblies of God. Following the class, you’ll meet with the Board to learn more about the church & to share more about yourself (your interests, talents that you can use at New Life, etc.). The Board will vote to receive you into membership & you will be notified of their decision. New Life currently has 131 members.
